I did ask God to take away the lump in my breast and to protect me from cancer. I prayed alone and I had people pray with me. Then I waited to see what would happen. I was in North Carolina when I discovered my lump. I would lie in bed at night looking out the window, wondering what the future would bring. I was focused on getting my husband and me out of North Carolina before winter hit. I prayed and prayed. The sense I got was to go ahead and move and that things would turn out fine. I just needed to trust that God would oversee my situation and take care of me and my family. This was not the first time I had faced a serious health problem, but it was the biggest challenge to my faith. Through prayer and Scripture reading I remained upright in my faith. I hope that what I learned will help others fighting cancer.
